Wrong for Hay


A real high light of this years London Design Festival was Hay’s new design venture with Sebastian Wrong under the brand name Wrong For Hay. Based here in London under the creative direction of Sebastian Wrong the collection covers lighting to furniture, textiles and accessories. Taking inspiration from London’s creative energy and eclecticism, it was refreshing to see contemporary products in a beautiful Georgian house. It gave the range a much broader appeal; they will sit happily with an antique in the same way they would sit in a modern minimalist home. Continue reading

New Designers 2013 -Part 2


Here’s my pick of the second round of New Designers. First up are some impressive furniture designers.

Graduate of London Metropolitan University  Mona Tripp created here own wood turning jig to create some beautiful tables with asymmetric legs, the Abacus table below is a wonderful example. It reminded me of my post on table Legs. Continue reading

Habitat AW13


Habitat have a record of producing some wonderful product designers. Tom Dixon and Bethan Gray cut their teeth at Habitat; not to mention the founding father (design demi-god?) Sir Terrence Conran. Today, under the Creative Director Polly Dickens they have a new designer to watch; Naoko Kanehira. Continue reading
